Wild Light, Urban Lines | Artist Reception

ANF Architects is proud to present Wild Light, Urban Lines, a new solo exhibition that invites viewers to explore the striking parallels between the natural world and the built environment. Through the fluid and expressive medium of watercolor, the artist captures the quiet majesty of forests and the bold geometry of cities—each rendered with luminous detail and reverence for light.

From misty woodlands to bustling cityscapes, Wild Light, Urban Lines highlights the shared rhythm, beauty, and complexity of places that are often seen as opposites. The exhibition encourages viewers to find connection in contrast, revealing how both natural and urban environments stir the human spirit and shape our sense of place.

Cat brings a unique perspective to her watercolors, shaped by her early years in photography. Her layered technique—starting with loose washes and building toward sharp, vivid detail—mimics the shifting focal depth of a camera lens. This approach creates a luminous, almost photorealistic quality that heightens the emotional impact of each piece. Often, the very process of studying the natural subjects in her work brings a deepened awareness and sense of awe, further inspiring Cat’s love of the great outdoors and the thematic development of her artwork.

So please join us for the opening of this exceptional exhibition at ANF on Friday, August 8th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Admission is FREE, and guests will enjoy complimentary soft drinks, wine, and snacks. All pieces will be available for purchase with cash, check, and Venmo. If you’re unable to attend the opening, the exhibition will be open for viewing at ANF on weekdays from August 8th through September 5th 2025. Gallery hours are Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm and Fridays 8am-3pm.
